Free Uno score sheet online, and how to make your own
Keep score in Uno the official way on a phone in the middle of the table. Type in the cards left in everyone's hands, mark who went out, and it gives them the points, keeps the totals and calls the winner at 500. Print blank score sheets too. Nothing is sent anywhere. Then make your own with a free AI assistant.
Loading the score keeper…
Your game saves in this browser only, so you can close the page and carry on later. Nothing is sent anywhere, and you can clear it any time in Settings. UNO is a trademark of Mattel; this is an unofficial score keeper that follows the official rules.
How Uno scoring works
Most families play Uno one hand at a time, but the official rules keep score. When someone plays their last card, they win the hand and score the points of all the cards left in everyone else's hands. Nobody else scores. The first player to reach 500 points wins the game.
| Card left in a hand | Points |
|---|---|
| Number cards (0 to 9) | Face value |
| Draw Two, Reverse, Skip | 20 |
| Wild, Wild Draw Four | 50 |
Example: Sam goes out. Alex is left with a 7, a Skip and a Wild (7 + 20 + 50 = 77) and Jo has a 3 and a 9 (12). Sam scores 89. In the score keeper, type 77 for Alex and 12 for Jo, put 0 for Sam and tap "Went out?" next to Sam, and it does the adding up. You can play to 200 or 300 instead of 500 for a shorter game.
Your own Uno score keeper
You'll describe the score keeper to a free AI assistant, paste what it writes into a file, and open it in your browser. Then add the game's own rules, the winner, saving and printing, one step at a time.
- A score sheet with a column for every player and a row for every hand
- A "went out" button: type the cards left in everyone's hands and the winner of the hand gets the lot
- Quick buttons for action cards (20) and wild cards (50)
- Standings with the highest score on top, and a winner at 500
- Undo, saving, tap-to-fix for any score, and printable blank sheets
Good for: families who want a longer game than one hand, kids practising their adding up, and anyone who has never been sure how Uno scoring works.
What you need
Build it in five steps
Step 1 gives you a simple version that works, and each step after it adds more. The score keeper at the top of this page is roughly what you'll have once you've done every step. Yours will look a bit different, because the AI writes its own version each time.
Ask for a simple Uno score sheet
Copy this prompt into your AI assistant:
Copy this promptI don't know how to code. Please make me a Uno score keeper that runs in a web browser, for my family to use instead of a paper score sheet. Requirements: - ONE single HTML file (HTML, CSS and JavaScript together), no external libraries, no internet needed. I will save it and double-click it. - At the top, a list of players with a name box for each, an "Add player" button (up to 8 players) and a small remove button. Start with two players called "Player 1" and "Player 2". - Below, a score table with one column for each player and a new row for each hand. Under each score, show the player's running total in smaller text. - At the end of each round, a big number button next to each player's name. Tapping it opens a number pad to type their score. A "Save round" button adds the round to the table once everyone has a score. - A "Total" row at the bottom. The HIGHEST total wins, so highlight the highest total. - Big, clear, friendly design with a dark background and buttons big enough to tap on a phone. Please give me the complete file in one code block, then tell me in simple steps how to save and open it.
Copy the code, paste it into your text editor, and save it as uno-scores.html. Double-click it, type your family's names and add a couple of hands.
Give the points to whoever went out
This is how official Uno scoring works: the winner of each hand collects everyone else's cards.
Copy this promptThat works, thank you. Please change how a hand is scored: - Next to each player's score button, a "Went out?" toggle. Only one player can be marked at a time. - Each player types the points of the cards left in their hand: number cards are face value, Draw Two, Reverse and Skip are 20, Wild and Wild Draw Four are 50. Add quick buttons for "+20 (action card)", "+50 (wild)" and "0 (went out)". - When I save the hand, the player who went out scores the total of everyone else's cards, and everyone else scores 0 for that hand. If nobody is marked but exactly one player has 0, treat them as the one who went out. - Show a message like "Sam wins the hand and scores 89." Send me the complete updated file.
Always ask for the complete file. Replace everything in uno-scores.html, save, and refresh the tab (F5 or Cmd+R).Race to 500 and crown the winner
Now it knows when a game of Uno is over.
Copy this promptPlease add: - A "Standings" list next to the table, sorted from highest total to lowest, with a place number for each player. - A thin progress bar under each player's name showing how close they are to 500. - When anyone's total reaches 500 or more, the game is over: show the winner in a big friendly message with a "Play again" button. - A setting to play to 200, 300 or 500. Send me the complete updated file.
Save the game, add undo, and print score sheets
Someone always types the wrong number, and someone always closes the tab. This step fixes both, and gives you paper sheets for when you'd rather use a pencil.
Copy this promptPlease add saving, undo and printing: - Save the players and the game in localStorage after every change, so refreshing or closing the page doesn't lose anything. Add a note saying "Your game saves in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere." and a "Clear saved game" button that asks first. - An "Undo" button that takes back the last change, however many times I press it. Keep a copy of the whole game before each change to make this simple. - Let me tap any score in the table to change it, and work all the totals out again. - A "Print" panel with a choice of "A4" and "US Letter" paper, and buttons to print: 1. A blank score sheet that fills one page, with six player columns (a score and a running total for each), a row for every round, and the scoring rules in a box at the bottom. 2. The game being played right now, with everyone's scores filled in. - When printing, show only the sheet, with no buttons, using a print stylesheet and @page with the right paper size and 10 mm margins. Every sheet must fit on exactly one page. Send me the complete updated file.
Make it look and feel finished
Last of all, the touches that make it nice to pass round the table.
Copy this promptPlease finish it off: - Coloured animal avatars for players, which I can change, and up and down arrows to change the order. - A strip of player cards across the top showing each player's total, with a crown on whoever is winning. - A big celebration with confetti when someone wins, and a "Play again" button that keeps the players. - A "Keep the screen awake" tick box using the Wake Lock API, hidden or greyed out if the browser can't do it. - On a phone, stack everything in one column, make every button at least 44 pixels tall, and let the score table scroll sideways inside its box, never the whole page. Send me the complete updated file.
Quick fixes
Everyone gets their own points instead of the winner getting them
That's a popular house rule (lowest score wins), but it isn't the official one. For the official rule, tell the AI: "When I save a hand, give the player who went out the total of everyone else's points, and give everyone else 0 for that hand."
It won't save the hand
It needs to know who went out. Tap "Went out?" next to the player who played their last card, or give them a score of 0.
The game was gone when I opened it again
Saving only works in the same browser on the same device, and private or incognito windows forget everything when they close. If it never saves, tell the AI: "Please save the whole game to localStorage after every change and load it when the page opens."
The printout spills onto a second page or shows the buttons
In the print window, set the scale to 100% (or "Default"), not "Fit to page", and pick the same paper size as the score keeper. If it's still wrong, tell the AI: "When printing, hide everything except the score sheet, and make the sheet a few millimetres shorter than the page so it always fits on one page."
It opens as text
Re-save as plain text with exactly .html at the end, not .txt.
Questions people ask
How do you keep score in Uno?
When someone plays their last card, they win the hand and score the points of all the cards left in the other players' hands: number cards are face value, Draw Two, Reverse and Skip are 20, and Wild and Wild Draw Four are 50. The first player to reach 500 wins.
How many points do you need to win Uno?
500 in the official rules. For a shorter game, play to 200 or 300, which you can set in the score keeper.
How much is a Wild Draw Four worth in Uno?
50 points, the same as a Wild. Draw Two, Reverse and Skip cards are 20, and number cards are worth their number.
Is there a version where the lowest score wins?
Yes, it's a common house rule: everyone scores the cards left in their own hand, and when someone reaches 500 the lowest total wins. If you play that way, our Golf or Mexican Train sheets work, because lowest wins there.
Can I print an Uno score sheet?
Yes. Press Print in the score keeper and choose a blank Uno score sheet, on A4 or US Letter, with the card values at the bottom. You can also print the game you're playing now.
Is it free, and is my game private?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no adverts in the score keeper. The game is saved in your own browser so you can carry on later, and nothing is sent anywhere. Clear it any time in Settings.
Twist it into something else
Players, rounds, undo, saving and printing work for almost any game with a score pad. Change the first prompt to make:
An Uno Flip scorer
light side and dark side card values, with the flip cards worth 20
A Phase 10 score keeper
tick off ten phases, with points for the cards left in hand
An adding-up game for kids
show a hand of Uno cards and let children work out what it's worth
A games night league table
keep every game's winner for the year, with a trophy cabinet
Your rules, your table, no adding up
Score pads go missing and the adding up always lands on one person. Yours gives the winner everyone else's points the official way, works on any phone or tablet, keeps the game if someone closes the tab, and never sends your scores anywhere. It's also a great first "real" app: buttons, tables, saving and printing, all in one small file you understand.
